It seems to have been slowly replaced by more modern bulky designs starting in the mid 1930's and isn't really seen much after the war. It has a center catch flanked but two bicycle tool box style loop closures. It is a simple and elegant design. The closures are marked D. R. P. It is in OK condition. The bottom has a small tear. Very nice product. Creates a clean look on my fiances night stand rather than having everything all over the place. I like the little compartment with the door, its nice for putting things out of sight. The coin compartment is nice as well. The curve of the bottom makes it easy to get the coins out. I do think its a little pricey for what it is, but i still feel it was worth it to organize the clutter.
