I really like this pepper shaker. It works great for me. It's easy to feel and the grind is good. I can get the different sizes of grinds. I like with my pepper and it's easy to clean. The quality of the new one is not like the old. The height is different now and the lid doesn’t fit quite right. Not a big deal but the lids are no longer interchangeable as before which can be annoying. Also, the glass looks cheaply made and there’s now a seam down the side. (See picture. New on left). Basically, if you are buying one to replace an older model, just save yourself the headache and buy two new ones if it bothers you that there’s different heights and jars.
